Christopher Wojnar, MSN, APNP, PMHNP-BC
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Hello! I’m Christopher or “Chris”, a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) licensed in the State of Wisconsin, international speaker, published author, consultant, change agent, and mental health advocate, dedicated to partnering with individuals like you on your mental health journey.
I initially completed an education in Fire Science with the goal of following in my father’s footsteps as a firefighter. After 5 years of applying for firefighting jobs and working in business development, sales management, and leadership, my path led me to pursuing an education and career in nursing.
One of my family members experienced a mental health crisis and I realized that this moment had to be the beginning of something greater. I made a decision: this pain needed a purpose. I couldn’t just stand by and watch others feel the same helplessness I had felt. I had to act. I made the conscious decision to embrace mental health, the mind-body connection, and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives those I serve as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
Each person’s journey is its own and I’m here to show empathy, compassion, and help you achieve your goals.
Based in Wisconsin, I strive to offer you genuine, down-to-earth care that’s focused on your unique needs and experiences.
I earned an Associate Degree in Nursing, followed by a Bachelor's in Nursing and Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Chamberlain University. I’ve since worked in various departments, including Spinal Cord Injury, Post Anesthesia, Surgery at a Level 1 Trauma Center, and nearly 10 years as a Critical Care Nurse in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit, where there is signifiant psychiatric overlap.
I’ve received 650 hours of intensive clinical training at:
Mental Health Emergency Center in Milwaukee, WI
Partial Hospitalization Program at Aurora Psychiatric Hospital
Eating Disorder Treatment at Inner Haven Wellness in Madison, WI
Child/Adolescent Inpatient at Aurora Psychiatric Hospital
Substance Abuse Treatment at Aurora Dewey.
What drives me is making a real difference in mental health and suicide prevention, particularly in the workplace. I’m passionate about fostering a culture that supports well-being in every aspect of life.
In my free time, I enjoy time with my wife and daughter, riding my motorcycle, playing guitar, going to concerts, traveling, and exploring different restaurants.
